An ACC Collections Officer has a very important role to do – managing the collection and recovery of outstanding payments and debts from our customers.

It takes a very special type of person to do this role, so have a read of what’s below, and see if this might be the right role for you.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to liaise with customers who have outstanding debts with us and to collect on these debts through effective and professional communication.

It is a busy role where you will be handling high volume inbound and outbound calls, answering questions and giving payment advice and information to customers. It is essential that you have experience of working with customers or in a customer service environment and you will also need to be familiar with PCs and comfortable using various computer applications.

It is important that you are an active listener and can work collaboratively with customers as well as having resilience and the confidence to be firm when the situation arises. You definitely have a friendly bubbly personality and a great work ethic.

What we’re looking for

Ideally, you will have previous experience working in a debt collection or credit management environment where you will have a great understanding of early day collections and debt recovery methodology. However, you may not have this experience, so we have come up with one absolute non-negotiable that you will need to ensure your CV is reviewed by the Hiring Manager.

  • Ideally at least one year proven customer service or sales experience

That’s it!

From this, we expect you to be able to wow us with your treatment of customers – being respectful, diffusing difficult situations, staying calm and listening, being resilient and always keeping the customer at the heart of what you do.

A bit about our team

We understand that this role can be pretty process driven, so we try to inject a bit of fun into the work day. We have team challenges and bake-offs, active days and competitions – all in the name of making the work day more fun!

And for something a bit different, in your cover letter, we want you to tell us how you would contribute to making our team fun or the most fun team you’ve been part of before and why.

Applications will run through to Monday, 27 May 2019 but please note that if an ideal candidate is found during this time we will move forward with screening and interviewing sooner.
