Now is an exciting time at DOC and we have an amazing opportunity for someone to help DOCs largest and most complex region to thrive.   DOC’s Southern South Island (SSI) region is growing with the Coastal Otago (Dunedin) district joining the region.  The region currently comprises of DOC’s Central Otago, Whakatipu-wai-Maori, Te Anau, Murihiku, Rakiura and Kakapo/Takahe operational teams.


The Transition Manager is a fixed term role through to 30 June 2020 who will be responsible to support the Operations Director SSI to complete a needs assessment for the region.  This assessment will identify improvements to the region to support great conservation outcomes, including to clearly identify and assist managing any issues arising to reduce the impact of the workload on the Director and other managers.


During the fixed term period you will be tasked with delivering a report with recommendations for the long-term support required to successfully deliver the work programme, and to lead the implementation of those recommendations that are adopted.  The scope of this work will include system improvement, business tool design and progressing DOC’s relationship with its treaty partner.


Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
